5mm is insanely thin! Even for a mechanical drive. Seagate sent their Laptop Thin drive with 500GB of storage space to boot. It wouldn’t be surprising that other HDD makers would be doing this to enable their fellow OEM companies to make devices to benefit from such a thin drive. We’ll be checking out how the performance is of such drive.
